CTA Videography: Artists as Athletes
This shoot challenged Unit4media as no shoot had.
Steve, owner and main videographer for Unit4media, got his start shooting fast action on whitewater. But CTA was a new kind of action.
With the right people and equipment, we got it done. Unit4media covered the event with four shooters: three videographers and a photographer. Steve invested specifically in a three-axis gimbal and bright lights to catch the movement and hairography at its best.
The day was eight hours long. Steve’s arms burned as he ran, following roundoff back handsprings across the floor.
The gib crane rose to match the highest tosses.
Unit4media clipped GoPros on poles behind the athletes. They moved with wide and tight angled cameras at the front.
Shaking It to the Beat: Editing the CTA Videography
With so many angles, and cutting between outfit changes, the editing was much, much longer than eight hours. Steve incorporated all of the cameras and photos, transitioned to the beat, and even designed the dvd case artwork. He managed this all within a tight deadline.
Unit4media worked hard for the hardworking CTA. CTA’s talented staff and state of the art facilities combined with ambitious athletes to put on a spectacular show of skill and teamwork. Thank you, CTA, for the honor of capturing your beautiful results.
